Jennifer Tabanico

Education: M.A. in Experimental Psychology, California State University, San Marcos

Jennifer is recognized internationally as an expert in community-based social marketing, and has nearly two decades of experience developing and implementing behavior change programs for public and private agencies. She has assisted a diverse array of clients to develop initiatives that leverage social science principles and overcome barriers to behavior change. Jennifer has conducted dozens of community-based social marketing trainings and regularly delivers keynote presentations on behavior change. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Environmental Psychology, Social Influence, Energy, Criminology, and Social Marketing Quarterly.  She has also contributed book chapters in the Handbook on Household Hazardous Waste and the Handbook on Persuasion and Social Marketing. Jennifer currently serves as an Editorial Board member for Social Marketing Quarterly and an instructor for the University of California San Diego (UCSD) Extension’s Behavior Change and Sustainability certificate program.

Key Talents: Jennifer is highly skilled at bridging the gap between social science research findings and real-world applications by making this information relevant and accessible to practitioners. As owner and President of Action Research, Jennifer also ensures that all projects are consistent with the company’s mission. She also oversees business operations and development activities.

When she’s not juggling meetings and deadlines, Jennifer is probably outdoors, spending time with her family, or engaged in volunteer work. She loves working in her yard, camping, and the thrill of a new adventure. Her conquests include skydiving, raising chickens, and finishing numerous obstacle races.
